Recount Text

Definition

Recount is a text which retells events or experiences in the past. Its purpose is either to inform or to entertain the audience. There is no complication among the participants and that differentiates from narrative.

Purpuse

To tell the reader what happened in the past through a sequence of event,

Text Organitation

1. Orientation

(Who were involved in the story, when, and where.

2. Events

(Tell what happened in a chronological order)

3. Evaluation

(Comments of the writer or speaker about the experience)

4. Re-Orientation(optional)

(The conclusion about the experience)

Language Feature

1. The use of noun and pronoun

(e.g.: David, his, we, etc)

2. The use of action verb

(e.g.: went, spent, played, etc)

3. The uses of Simple Past Tense

(e.g.: We went for a trip to the zoo)

4. The uses of time conjunction

(e.g.: and, but, after, before, etc)

5. The uses of adverb of phrase

(e.g.: in my house, two days ago, slowly, etc)

6. Uses of adjective

(e.g.: beatiful, lazy, clever, etc)
